Bored as heck...

In an attempt to not tear my hair out this summer especially since it's been cold and I'm convinced winter will descend upon us by the end of next week I have a new 'project' which is to make my way through the list: "17 Secret Places in NYC You Don't Know About (But Should)"

To the dude doing the pull ups in Midtown

Yo, what's up with that?  Do you need the extra exercise?  Are you trying to impress a gal? A guy? Maybe both?  Haven't see you in a while are you doing push ups instead?  Many questions and maybe the next time I see you I'll ask however, until then carry on.

Kara Walker

When I went to #KaraWalker's 'A Subtlety' exhibit at the old #dominiosugarfactory I wasn't sure what to expect because the only photographs of the exhibit I saw was of the immense face of the sugar coated sculpture and trust me it's immense it's also anatomical with breasts and a vagina, yes a vagina - I don't think we need made up words for 'lady parts' we're all adults.

So, in case you missed the exhibit here is well, what you missed.

50 is the new 50

The other day JLo turned 45 and everyone was making a big deal about how great she looks now, friend in my head, Sandy Bullock has turned 50 and it's the same nonsense.

These are women not girls times have changed and women are not falling into what convention says age should be, how it should act, how it should talk, how it should dress.

JLo is reppin' 45 you go Jenny from the block and Sandy is making me envious of 50.

Happy Bday Sandy!!!

Wonder Woman

Well Hollywood is at it again another remake, reboot, restart, re-imagining of an iconic figure yes, I mean Wonder Woman.  Wonder Woman was the shit for a whole generation of girls who were bombarded by 'The Six Million Dollar Man', 'The Incredible Hulk', 'The A-Team', 'Batman', 'Superman' etc. now of course male super heroes are great but for a little girl looking for a heroine Wonder Woman was it, the way she twirled - always a lady and was able to change in two seconds flat showed she was feminine, strong, intelligent and bad ass all at the same time.  So please if there is a Movie God please don't destroy Wonder Woman's image for this new crop of girls.

Now that's a show open!

Spoiler Alert: Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is...

Completely awesome.

Great story, great direction, there's a moral to the story and Cesar should get an #Oscar nod.

True Dat series of stuff that's true... true dat

Anthropologie end of the season or is it?...

I'm not made of money and I love Anthropologie so I always wait until there's a sale or until the end of the season to buy sweaters hoping that I can get in at least one or two wears before I have to banish them to the back of the closet until the next year.

So this little darling animal print with kimono sleeves (white bow shirt is separate) was a steal at $29.95 considering it's made in Italy by Charlie and Robin from alpaca and wool and was originally $118, yes honey even with the receipt it still feels like a steal!
